Evan Davidson

Evan Davidson writes and edits the guides, tools and lingo pages on TruckEver. That covers how semi trucks work, what driver life and pay really look like, the path to running your own authority, and the songs, slang and history that make trucking its own culture.

What Evan covers

The semi trucks 101 guides explain the rig and the job for new drivers, curious readers and owner-operators in plain words. The free trucking calculators turn rate, cost, fuel and hours-of-service questions into numbers you can check. The trucker lingo dictionary keeps CB talk alive, and the drug and alcohol pages walk CDL carriers through federal testing rules.

How Evan works on a page

  • Plain answers first. Each guide starts with the short answer to the question you searched, then goes deeper for readers who want the detail.
  • Every number has a source. Figures and rules link to the agency, regulation or study they came from, with the date they were checked. If a number can't be sourced, it doesn't go on the page.
  • Examples are labeled. Sample loads, weeks and CB lines are marked EXAMPLE so they are never mistaken for real data.
  • Rules pages are planning aids. Regulations change, and states add their own. Pages say so and point to the official text.
  • Pages get updated. Each one shows the month it was last checked, and corrections are welcome.
